Durham Regional Hospital
The Division of Radiation Oncology at Durham Regional Hospital(DRH) is staffed by the physicians, radiotherapists, physics and dosimetry staff of the Department of Radiation Oncology of Duke University Medical Center. Treatment services are provided with a 6 MV linear accelerator equipped with a variety of electron energies. Most patients being treated for a variety of disease sites can receive their treatment at this facility. Treatment planning, or simulation, for radiotherapy is performed at Duke, which is approximately a 10 minute drive.
Prostate seed implants, or brachytherapy, are also performed at DRH in a collaborative effort with the Urology Physicians at Durham Regional Hospital.
