Christopher G. Willett, M.D.   Department Chairman.  Leonard R. Prosnitz Professor of Radiation Oncology.  Dr. Willett’s research interests include gastrointestinal malignancies. 
  
David M. Brizel, M.D.  Professor of Radiation Oncology.  Associate Professor of Head and Neck Surgery.  Listed in Best Doctors in America.  Winner of 2006 R. Wayne Rundles Award for Excellence in Cancer Research.    His research interests include head-and-neck cancer, tumor oxygenation, integrating molecularly targeted therapy with chemoradiation, and in situ imaging of the effects of treatment on tumor physiology. 
 
Junzo P. Chino, M.D.  Assistant Professor.  After completing his Radiation Oncology residency at Duke University Medical Center in 2009, Dr. Chino has joined our clinic as an Attending Physician.
  
Brian G. Czito, M.D.  Associate Professor. His research interest includes gastrointestinal malignancies, including integration of novel systemic agents with radiation in the treatment of esophageal, gastric, pancreatic and colorectal malignancies.  
  
Carol Hahn, M.D.  Butler-Harris Assistant Professor. Director of Radiation Oncology Service at Duke-Raleigh Hospital.  Research interests include the neurocognitive components of cancer and treatment.
 
Janet Horton, M.D.  Assistant Professor.  In August 2008, Dr. Horton joined Duke Radiation Oncology.  Her clinical and research interests are in treating breast cancer.
  
Christopher Kelsey, M.D.   Assistant Professor. His research  and clinical interests include hematologic malignancies, lung cancer, and stereotactic radiosurgery.  
  
John P. Kirkpatrick, M.D., Ph.D.  Associate Professor. Director of Radiation Oncology Clinical Service at Duke University Medical Center.  Recipient of the Marie Curie award from the Radiation Research Society. His research interests include diseases of the CNS and radiosurgery techniques. 
  
David G. Kirsch, M.D., Ph.D.  Associate Professor. Recipient of a 2008 Damon Runyon- Rachleff Innovation Award. His research interests include bone and soft tissue sarcomas, modeling cancer in the mouse, and the mechanisms of normal tissue injury by radiation (Kirsch Laboratory ).
  
Bridget Koontz, M.D.  Assistant Professor. Director of Radiation Oncology Clinical Services at DUHS Durham Regional Hospital. Her research interests are in treatment for prostate cancer, including multimodality strategies, and minimizing radiation toxicity in prostate cancer patients. 
  
Nicole A. Larrier, M.D.  Assistant Professor. Her clinical and research interests are in pediatric oncology, and soft tissue malignancies.
  
W. Robert Lee, M.D., M.S., M.Ed.   Professor. Program Training Director, Radiation Oncology Residency Program. His major clinical research includes genitourinary cancer and brachytherapy.
  
Beth Lindsay, M.D.  Associate.
  
Gustavo S. Montana, M.D.  Professor Emeritus. He is well known for his work in gynecologic oncology and on the Patterns of Care Studies.
  
James R. Oleson, M.D., Ph.D.    Professor. Director of Radiation Oncology Service at the Durham Veterans Administration Medical Center.  Listed in Best Doctor’s in America. Clinical interests include head and neck, gynecologic, and genitourinary malignancies. Research interests include 1) interaction between radiation and modifiers of cell signaling and 2) prostate cancer.
  
Leonard R. Prosnitz, M.D.   Professor and Past Department Chairman. Listed in Best Doctor’s in America. A pioneer in the development of combined modality therapy, he is a recognized authority on the treatment of lymphoma and breast carcinoma.
  
Zeljko Vujaskovic, M.D., Ph.D.  Associate Professor. Winner of the 2009 R. Wayne Rundles Award for Excellence in Cancer Research.  Major research interests: Mechanism and modification of radiation-induced normal tissue injury, hyperthermia and tumor physiology, translational research.
  
David P. Yoo, M.D.  Associate.  After completing his Radiation Oncology residency at Duke University Medical Center in 2009, Dr. Yoo has joined our clinic as an Attending Physician.
