Radiation Therapists

Chief Therapist at at Duke Radiation Oncology:  Debra Georgas, R.T.T.

Radiation Therapists are skilled medical specialists who administer targeted doses of radiation to the patient in order to treat cancer.

Under supervision of the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist administers the prescribed daily radiation dose to the patient.  The Radiation Therapist will see patients almost daily for several weeks of treatment and will closely monitor them. 

Radiation Therapists are educated in radiation therapy technology, radiation safety, patient anatomy, and patient care.
