Duke Cancer Patient Support Program
The Duke Cancer Patient Support Program was established in 1986 to address the psychological and social needs of patients and their families. It is one of the leading programs of its kind in the nation, having won the American Medical Assoication Award for Excellence, and being among the first to offer the "Look Good, Feel Better" program for patients, and support gourps for children whose parents have cancer.
Research demonstrates that cancer patients benefit from psycho-social support after tier diagnosis and during treatment.
