Resident Mark Chen, MD, PhD, has been named a B. Leonard Holman Pathway Research Fellow, granting him 21 months of dedicated research time during his final two years of residency. Holman Research Pathway residents are selected by the American Board of Radiology based on clinical proficiency, outstanding research experience and commitment to basic science or clinical research.

During his protected research time, Dr. Chen will work in the lab of Chair of Biomedical Engineering Ashutosh Chilkoti, PhD, to develop genetically encoded polymers to study radiation biology and oncogenesis.

"I am excited to train in the Holman Research Pathway/Duke RORS track, which will provide ample protected time to do good science," said Dr. Chen.
