Graduating medical physics residents with mentors

Congratulations to medical physics residents Thomas Cullom, MS, and Yibo Xie, PhD, on the successful completion of their training.

Thomas will be starting at Forrest Health in Hattiesburg, MS as a clinical physicist. Thomas will be tasked covering a wide range of physics activities including SRS/SBRT, brachytherapy and imaging.

Dr. Xie will be starting at Emory in Atlanta, GA as an assistant professor. His primary coverage will be at the Emory Proton Center and the Midtown University Proton site.

Additional congratulations are due to Chunhao Wang, PhD, who was named Instructor of the Year for the medical physics residency program.

Chunhao Wang, PhD, with graduating medical physics residents

Thomas said the following: "Over the last two years, Dr. Wang has served as an excellent instructor and mentor for both myself and the other residents. We greatly appreciate the extra time and effort he put into our training and education." Dr. Xie added that: "Although lots of physicists should be given this award, Dr. Wang stood out because he's always available to help us whenever we have questions with residency training and clinical issues (e.g., IMRT QA)."
