Criscuolo Receives NCI F31 Grant

Congratulations to Teddy Criscuolo, PhD student in the Duke Medical Physics Graduate Program, who received a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) for Individual Predoctoral Fellows (F31) from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Teddy's fellowship project involves a structured research project and training plan focused on the longitudinal tracking of diffuse glioma, the most common primary central nervous system tumor type in adults.

"Under the guidance of my co-sponsors Deshan Yang, PhD, and Evan Calabrese, MD, PhD, I will develop and apply blood vessel anatomical matching and state-of-the-art nonlinear registration methods to longitudinal MRIs of diffuse glioma patients," said Teddy. "In doing so, we hope to provide robust and verifiable methods to support retrospective studies investigating tumor recurrence patterns as well as more sensitive tools for detecting disease progression."
