On Thursday, October 9, Maria Parham Medical Center celebrated the reopening of the radiation oncology service, unveiling their new LINAC with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house. Staff and participants had the opportunity to meet radiation oncologist Ryan Fecteau, MD, PhD, who transitioned to working at Maria Parham at the beginning of October. Additionally, Bert Beard, the CEO of Maria Parham, delivered the opening remarks, "praising the radiation oncology staff and the partnership that exists with Duke Radiation Oncology," said Anthony Kidd, CMD, RT, chief radiation therapy technologist at Maria Parham.
"With the new LINAC installation and reopening of the Maria Parham center, we can now provide advanced radiation therapy approaches here in Henderson," said Dr. Fecteau. "It is a privilege to offer this service and expand access to precision radiation therapy to the local community and the patients of Vance County."
