Why Duke?
Close to home in the Southeast; awesome location in the Triangle with lots of good food and activities. Established global health options at Duke were very attractive (possibly interested in global health masters option). The faculty and residents also seemed very energetic and enthusiastic at interviews and seemed to enjoy working together.

Clinical/research interests
I'm open to pretty much anything at this point clinically but would love to incorporate some global health initiatives into my career. I’d love to explore some AI in medicine research and explore the utility of circulating tumor DNA as a diagnostic and/or prognostic tool for a variety of cancers.

What were you looking for in a residency program?
A place with great people who enjoy working together and faculty who enjoy teaching. I wanted an established global health program that would make getting involved more streamlined. I also wanted somewhere that would prepare me to do anything I want to do: academic or private, any disease site, procedures, etc., all ideally somewhere relatively close to home.

Hobbies/interests
Outside of Duke, I’m a "dabbler" in many things. Currently I'm reading a lot of sci-fi and thriller novels and learning to make all kinds of bread. I've always enjoyed playing and watching sports, so I'm looking forward to checking out some Bulls, Courage and Hurricanes games along with Duke sporting events! When I have time, I enjoy diving into cinematic/story-focused video games. I also collect rocks/minerals and have a very large collection that I have displayed in my home.
