Admissions
Applicants must meet all admission standards:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Board certified in radiography – RT (R)
- Possess at least an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university by the time of enrollment; any major is acceptable
They must also do the following:
- Complete and submit a Duke Radiation Therapy Application (TBD/TK)
- Submit transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended and any previous registry scores
- Submit three letters of recommendation. One must be from a clinical instructor/preceptor in or from your radiography program – download form (TBD/TK)
After completing and submitting the application package, the Advisory Committee will evaluate a candidate’s qualifications for the study and practice of radiation therapy. The Advisory Committee will invite selected candidates to proceed to a personal interview. The individual interview is a crucial part of the admission process, enabling prospective students to obtain more information about the program, but also allows the committee to assess better factors such as motivation, professionalism, and interpersonal communication skills. Letters of invitation to interview will be sent via email, typically in late January, and a single interview session is scheduled mid-to-late February. Interview times will be flexible depending on staff schedules; however, an interview make-up date will not be offered. Selection for a personal interview does not guarantee admission into the program. The Duke program accepts a maximum of five candidates for their initial cohort, and a competitive environment is anticipated.
Duke is a diverse community committed to excellence, fairness, and respect for everyone. As part of this commitment, we actively value diversity in our workplace and learning environments as we seek to take advantage of everyone's rich backgrounds and abilities. We believe that when we understand, celebrate and tap into our uniqueness to solve problems and address shared goals creatively, our possibilities are limitless.
