Tim Catalano

Timothy Catalano, MA, RT(T), ARRT
Program Director

Tim earned an associate degree in radiation therapy from Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York, in 1991. He then completed a bachelor's degree in biology at Greensboro College in 1996 and a master’s degree at Duke University in 2000.

In 2017, after a 26-year career as a staff therapist, Tim became the clinical coordinator for a bachelor's program in radiation therapy at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. This program was accredited by JRCERT, and he helped complete self-studies and interim reports, participating in a site visit in 2018. During his time at APSU, Tim started as a tenure-track assistant professor. He was promoted to associate professor, where he served as an adviser, taught a wide range of didactic courses, and was the primary clinical contact at all clinical sites.

In 2023, Tim was awarded the Radiation Therapist Distinguished Author Award from the ASRT for his article “Exploring the Need for Clinical Preceptor Training in Radiation Therapy.”

Tim currently serves as Duke Radiation Oncology's QA and Safety Coordinator on the main campus and will act as the program director.


Henry

Henry Diaz, BSRT, RT(T), ARRT
Instructor

Henry is Duke Radiation Oncology's Chief Radiation Therapist with 25 years of experience in radiation oncology and health care administration. He brings significant expertise in collaborating with senior management to strategize growth initiatives and operational plans aimed at achieving program goals, maximizing performance and enhancing patient satisfaction. A strategic leader, Henry has been instrumental in strengthening employee relations and engagement within the health care setting. He is also dedicated to training therapy students.


Breann

Breann Bollinger, BS, RT(T), ARRT
Instructor

Breann earned her BS in radiologic science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004. After graduation, she began her career at Duke University Hospital. During this time, she advanced through the Radiation Therapy Clinical Ladder, where she served as the clinical coordinator for visiting students from 2010 to 2016, participated on the advisory committee for the UNC and Pitt Community College Radiation Therapy programs and taught several classes for the UNC therapy program.

In June 2019, Breann joined Duke Raleigh Hospital as the Chief Radiation Therapist of radiation oncology in Cary, North Carolina, which serves as a clinical site for radiation therapy students and shadowing opportunities. Professionally, Breann has authored multiple articles and presented at the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. She advocates for teaching and training the next generation of radiation therapists and mentoring current therapists in their professional growth. She is excited about the opportunity for Duke to share its expertise and leadership in radiation oncology through its own radiation therapy program.


Robyn

Robyn Roehm, BS, CMD, RT(T), ARRT
Instructor

Robyn earned her BS in radiologic science from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York in 2015, and her Medical Dosimetry Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She began her dosimetry career at Duke University Hospital in 2018.

Robyn is responsible for educating dosimetry and radiation therapy students, as well as visiting medical students, in the clinic. She also served as an adjunct professor, teaching a distance education course for Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. Robyn is scheduled to teach similar courses for Duke's upcoming program. Additionally, she has published several articles in radiation therapy professional journals. Robyn is enthusiastic about Duke's opportunity to share its radiation oncology expertise and leadership with its radiation therapy program.
